The 2005 Club vs. Club Championship that was scheduled for October 9, 2005 on the Connecticut River in Bellows Falls Vermont was canceled due to unsafe River conditions. Up to 11 inches of rain fell in the Connecticut River Valley between Friday evening and Sunday morning. The rain came fast and the amount of rain was considerably more than what was predicted. The Connecticut River was a wall of mud with several large trees floating downstream at a very high rate of speed. The C-River had yet to crest and would continue to rise during the day. Several roads, houses and bridges were washed away in this area and the nearby town of Keene NH was in a State of Emergency and 30 percent of it was under water. Still, anglers from several diehard Federation clubs showed up to fish this event, and many of them had to take alternate routes to get there. It was decided at the pre-tournament meeting that the event should be cancelled due to the unsafe conditions. With the season getting late, the tournament will not be rescheduled. The Federation wishes to thank all of the clubs that sent teams to this event. We will continue this unique year-end tournament in 2006 when the host club will again be Granite State. They will have their pick of venue for 2006.
