NH BASS Federation Awards Program
The NH B.A.S.S. Federation offers several award programs for anglers fishing Federation events. The specifics of these awards are detailed below and will take effect for the 2005 season and beyond.
The Team of the Year is determined based on a points system. The three Opens are the qualifying tournaments and simply the team that finishes with the most points from these three opens determines the TOY. The winning team will receive free entry fees for the following years Opens ($375 value) and a plaque to be presented at the Federation Banquet. The second place team in the points race will receive 2 paid entry fees the following season ($250 value) and the third place team will get one paid entry fee ($125 value). Teams competing for TOY do not need to be members of the NH BASS Federation. Each member of a two-person team will receive the same amount of points for their Open finish.
The Angler of the Year award is also a points based system. This award is for NH Federation members only and involves points from the three opens combined with both days of the STQT for a total of 5 events. The format involves a “drop” which means that anglers will drop their lowest point total from the Opens, so both days of the STQT and the two best scores from the Open will determine the Angler of the Year. The AOY will have his following year’s STQT AND all 3 Open’s paid for by the Federation ($490 value). The AOY will also receive a trophy and a jacket at the Federation Banquet.
The Club Angler of the Year is for NH Federation members only. Each club will submit its “Club Champion” prior to the STQT. The highest finishing angler at the STQT from the list of club champions will become the Club Angler of the Year. This is an individual award and is based on weight and not points. The CAOY will receive free entry into the following years STQT as well as paid entry for all three Federation Opens ($490 value). The CAOY will also receive a trophy and jacket at the Federation Banquet and the submitting club will receive a trophy as well.
The NH BASS Federation will also present trophies to the Federation anglers that catch the lunker Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass for the year. To qualify, the fish must be caught at a Federation event (Open, STQT, club tournament etc). The Lunker of the Year Trophy will be presented at the Awards Banquet.
