Treasurer’s Report –
• Report was presented for two periods (11/25/09 – 12/31/09 and from 1/1/2010 – 1/26/10). The reports were accepted with no adjustments being needed
• A question was asked about tax exempt status. We are currently a Non-Profit organization only and we have not further pursued for Tax Exempt status for several reasons including cost, complexity, time commitment, resources, going concern and reporting requirements if we received a favorable determination. So what that means is any donations we receive can not be deducted as a charitable contribution because we are not a tax exempt organization.
Vice President’s Report –
• Bayard Lohmiller had nothing to report
Youth Director’s Report –
• Position is currently vacant.
Conservation Director -
• Speed Limit – Marine Patrol has two boating seasons to collect data. They will then pass on the information to the legislature to see whether or not they can justify passing the law. The State Legislation is a reflection of Washington, DC. The philosophy is that they feel the legislation is better equipped to control our speed than we are. If no action is taken in the two boating seasons, the bill will die. The legislature feels they need to pass this before it does. Dick Smith is tracking this bill and will speak on our behalf when a haring is set.
• Ames Farm- Steven Nix, approached the zoning board of Gilford to overturn the planning boards decision concerning the launching of boats. Steve Nix is an attorney that has a relative that owns property. It is unlikely that the zoning board will overturn the planning board. www.gilford.org/publicdocu....2008/S021BB065
President’s Report – Old Business
• The Website is up and running and we are trying to update information and keep it updated. The web site plays a major role with keeping communication open.
• 2010 Event Status - All permits are in hand. Logistics are being worked out to ensure that we have a great event.
• 2010 Membership Updates
o The New Hampshire Bass Federation is comprised of 10 clubs with 89 members. All dues were submitted to NH Bass Federation by 12/31/2009 with the exception of one member. 7 of the 10 clubs dues were paid and received by TBF/FLW by 12/31/200. In summary 74% of the club dues were paid to and received by TBF/FLW prior to 12/31/2009 and the balance were paid to TBF/FLW by 1/23/2010.
• State Team
o Reiterated roles and responsibilities. Need to establish a funding project for the State Team @ Divisional in 2010 to ensure the state team is ready to execute their plan to run the opens and raise funds for their Divisional Event.
President’s Report – New Business
• Round Table – thanked Mike McNamara for stepping up to the President’s role. His leadership has already brought about positive change and actions towards moving the organization forward.
• Minn Kota Raffle
o We are raffling off a Minn Kota Trolling Motor to benefit the State Team. Tickets were sold at the Rockingham Expo and the Motor is currently at Northern Bass and ticket sales are continuing there with Sandy. Tickets can also be purchased on line. Sandy will also sell tickets at her events up to the actual raffle at the summer open on July 25, 2010
o Each club has been given $30 worth of tickets that they are responsible for. They can either sell them to individuals or purchase them as a club and if won could be a fund raiser for them. All clubs need to have the $30 paid at or before the February meeting on Feb 23,2010. Ticket prices are $5 each or 3 / $10. Each club as 3 packets of 3.
• Constitution
o Copies of the amended Constitution were handed out to all clubs at the meeting. Copies were also emailed prior to the meeting, but not all clubs received them. The Constitution will be voted on at the Feb meeting.
? The changes to the Constitution make it a living document, allows changes when required, removes date and specific dollar references, adds three new board members and specifies monies for the boater and non-boater for the nationals.
• Camp Carefree – August 4, 2010 / 100+ kids with diabetes need volunteers to take them out fishing. We need about 20 boats to feel comfortable.
