Meeting called to order at 7:20 Read/Motion to Accept Agenda…agenda was accepted Roll call: Clubs not present include: BASS HOOKERS, BREAKAWAY BASS, BUBBA BASS, GRANITE STATE, HOOK SETTERS, LAKES REGION Secretaries Report: November minutes were accepted as is. Treasurers Report: Bob Winslow read the treasurers report, there was a motion on the floor to retain the check for $115 from casting kids and keep the money since they still owed $500 in previous fees. NHBF will send a note to Ray regarding the keeping of funds. A check was cut to Mark Anthony and Alan Denise for a total of $2500 for the nationals, this money was out of the state team account. VP Report: Dave Duffy made mention of the new board of directors and that we will try to take the federation in a new direction. President Report: Ron Poirier stated that this organization needs volunteers to grow and try to improve the current situation. Ron also mentioned that we currently in need of a new youth director as well as a tournament director. Ron stated that we need an updated constitution and that there are many things that he is looking into to improve the NHBF. If anyone wants to volunteer or help out, Ron is more than welcome to talk to them. Ron can be reached via email at xbassx@comcast.net. Youth Report: Dick Smith had a few articles to handout at the meeting about "Anglers Legacy". Dick encouraged people to get involved in this program. See NHBF web site for more information. Dick also handed out an article that he wrote called "We are in trouble". It talks about kids and letting them get a shot to fish with the Pro's and how important that is for the industry and sport. Each club present was given a copy of this; please take a minute to read this. Conservation report/Legislative/State Team/PVA Director/Committee report: Dick Smith talked about Martel's and that they still will be open to launch boats next year. This should allow larger tournaments to be conducted on Lake Winnisquam. Norm's marina on the Connecticut River is up for sale and that they have a solid buyer in place. We are working on a long term agreement with them to host events there in the future. Stay tuned for more info to come on this and public access. The legislature will start hearing bills in January. HB 47. This bill is still on the floor and has another chance to pass in the house. We need all the support to stop the bill at the senate. Please contact your reps and voice your opinion. Dick handed out to the clubs all the Senators in NH, please contact them, NOW IS THE TIME. PVA Tournament - September 13th and 14th 2008 on Lake Winnipesaukee. Tournament Director: At the meeting this position was reviewed and talked about. Salem had a proposal at this meeting please take back to your clubs and review; they basically outlined 4 or 5 options for having a tournament director. There was a discussion about many options that were on the table. Dave Duffy talked to John Woodman and is somewhat interested in the Co T-Director position. Please discuss this with your club and bring choices or additional suggestion to the next meeting. NOTE: If anyone is still interested in this position please contact the NHBF or Ron Poirier. Email: xbassx@comcast.net. Old business: Divisional - Mass will be holding the TBF/FLW Divisional on Lake Winnipesaukee, they going out of Silver Sands. Event Dates: September 14-19th, 2008. We offered to give it to CT and they defaulted back to the TBF and then Mass offered to take it from CT. Banquet - Flyers were handed out and can be found on the web site. Banquet is set for January 19th - tickets are $25 per person (if prepaid) and $30 per person at the door. NHBF encourages your participation! If you have not given a head count for your club please contact Bob Winslow by the 5th of January. Bob's address can be found on the web site. NHBF wanted to thank John Woodman for all the effort he has done with the banquet. Please thank John for his effort if you see him. Dues and Rosters - Dues were due at the December meeting; if you have not sent them in please send them to Dave Duffy ASAP. Tournament Director - already discussed. Break: not taken in order to keep meeting short. New business: Budget 2008 - Dave Duffy talked and passed out the proposed budget for 2008. Discussed were the 2007 large expenses. There is a possibility to increase dues to help with the 2008 budget. It was mentioned that there has not been a dues increase for as long as anyone could remember, it is probably time for an increase. Dave talked about how we have saved money by moving the monthly meetings and we need to look additional ways to save money as well. Youth Director - Still looking for someone to fill this position, TBF/FLW will have a new program coming out and we will need someone to fill this position. Hauling the Tournament Trailer - This was touched on earlier, Ron talked about how this would not be a problem to store the trailer at his house, we are pursuing other options and reimbursement for doing this. Please bring back to your clubs to discuss additional options. Constitution - Ron talked about possibly looking into the constitution and seeing what can be changed to cover everyone. Club Requirements - These were handed out at the meeting, please see flyer and we will be holding true to this document. VERY IMPORTANT, Ron talked about how important it is not to miss more than 25% of the meetings. This will be looked at strongly in 2008. Dues /Increase - This was discussed earlier and Dave Duffy is coming up with options for possibly increasing dues. Entry Fee's - Talked about having one fee for our opens, too cumbersome the way it is and can get confusing who is in lunker and who launched where. We are looking to streamline this process as well as lowering the cost of the tournament fees. Additional Business: Award Submittals were handed in at this meeting.
